Member Spotlight: Susan Tosti
When she first joined Forever FIT, she didn’t turn on her camera.
She had just retired. It was during COVID. She was simply looking for something active — and maybe a little social. She wasn’t chasing a dramatic transformation. She just wanted to move more.
And quietly, something powerful began to happen.
Today, she takes three classes per week — Upper Body Strength, Build & Burn, and Lower Body Strength. She feels stronger than she ever has. Her balance has improved. Her core strength has increased. Her stamina has grown.
She’s turning 70 this year.
And she says she feels more fit than ever.
That’s not just a fitness win. That’s confidence in motion.
From Hesitation to Confidence
When she first logged into class, she kept her camera off.
She worried she wouldn’t be able to keep up. She wasn’t sure she belonged. That quiet fear — the one so many women carry when they start something new — almost kept her small.
But after a few classes, she realized something important:
No one judges.
Everyone shows up for the same reason — to be healthier, to feel better, to grow stronger.
That realization changed everything.
The camera came on. The confidence began to grow.
More Than a Workout
What started as “just being more active” became something deeper.
The friendships formed in class became meaningful. The camaraderie became motivating. The shared goal of becoming stronger created connection.
They only see each other during class.
But they are united in purpose.
There is something incredibly empowering about standing alongside other women — virtually or in person — who are committed to showing up for themselves.
Community strengthens consistency.
Consistency builds strength.
Strength builds confidence.
And that confidence spills into life beyond the workout.
Strength That Extends Beyond the Gym
One of the biggest shifts she’s experienced is improved core strength and balance.
And that improvement didn’t just help her plank longer or lift heavier.
It gave her confidence to do the things she loves.
She feels more flexible.
She feels stronger.
She feels steady.
And most days?
She can keep up with her five grandchildren.
That’s real-life strength.
Not for aesthetics.
Not for a number on a scale.
But for living fully.
The Power of Starting
When asked about a milestone she’s most proud of, she didn’t name a specific lift or fitness marker.
She said she’s proud of taking the step to join.
Proud of the strength she’s gained.
Thankful for the confidence she’s gained.
Sometimes the biggest victory isn’t a physical milestone.
It’s deciding you’re worth the effort.
At nearly 70 years old, she isn’t slowing down.
She isn’t shrinking.
She isn’t sitting on the sidelines.
She is building.
And that is empowerment.
Motivation That Lasts
What motivates her now?
To keep feeling good.
To maintain a healthy attitude.
To continue proving to herself that growth doesn’t have an age limit.
That mindset is powerful.
Fitness is not about youth.
It’s about vitality.
It’s about independence.
It’s about capability.
And it’s never too late to start.
Advice to Anyone Who Feels Unsure
Her advice is simple:
Give it a try.
Don’t be afraid you won’t fit in.
Everyone goes at their own pace.
Options are always provided.
You belong.
That’s the heart of Forever FIT.
Not perfection.
Not comparison.
Not competition.
Just progress.
At your pace.
With support.
